Spectrometers providing quick, highly accurate analysis of oil in the field
A Kitchener-Waterloo, Ont.–based company might have come up with a way to essentially put some light on trainloads of crude oil to determine what oil is potentially explosive, like the cars filled with Bakken crude that turned into a fireball after a derailment last summer, destroying much of downtown Lac-Mégantic, Que., and causing 47 deaths.
