The Competition

In 2010, Technology Stars was launched to recognize new ideas and technologies that promote the entrepreneurial spirit in the energy sector. Each fall, New Technology Magazine recognizes the most innovative new technologies introduced in four different categories, and one runner up in each category. Through these awards, we recognize those who have made the Canadian oilpatch what it is today—among the most technologically advanced, entrepreneurial and resourceful oil and gas sectors in the world.

Technology Stars are awarded in the following categories:

Best Exploration Technology - Acknowledging the best acquisition (e.g. seismic, EM, geochemistry) or processing, interpretation technology.
Best Drilling Technology - Honouring drilling technology that has had a significant impact on the ability to drill a well.
Best Production Technology - Recognizing a production or completion technology that helps to improve oil and gas production.
Best HSE Technology - Selecting a technology that helps the oil and gas industry reduce its environmental footprint (air, water, land) or safely protect workers.

Winners will be featured in the November issue of New Technology Magazine. 

Submission Requirements

All submissions must be received by September 25, 2015, for consideration. All submissions must be for a new technology being actively used in exploration, drilling, production, HSE or operations.  

Submissions will be reviewed and judged by an internal panel. Winners will be announced and featured in the November 2015 issue of New Technology Magazine.
